Last Summer Vacation Weekend!

With one weekend left before school starts, we did it big with two fun trips over two days!  On Friday, we made our way down to Murfreesboro, Tenneessee for the "Masters of the Summer Music Games" competition.  It was exhillerating to see the "Top 8" corps of the season all in one place, including...

The Blue Stars
The Bluecoats
The Cavaliers
The Blue Devils
Santa Clara Vanguard
Phantom Regiment
Carolina Crown
The Cadets

You should know that Santa Clara Vanguard is my personal favorite, and The Cadets are Nathan's fav  We were both very excited to see their shows live.

Nathan and I in our SCV and Cadets Shirts!

SCV did another great performance of their 2011 show "The Devils Staircase.  Their show is very strange, described by their director as "Imagine you are in hell and you want out"!  Their guard and percussion are awesome this year, with a little more brass work I am hoping for a top 5-6 showing at worlds!

The Cadets performed AMAZINGLY at the show.  Their production is "Between Angels and Demons" and I got chills multiple times during it.  They demonstrate some crazy hard drill and an amazing music book.  It is really a show  you have to see to understand, get a hold of me if you want to see what I am talking about!  I am hoping for this show to be the 2011 Champion!

At the end of the show, all of the corps came out to play "Firedance" together which was awesome, but the most incredible part is shown below...imagine 400 flags at once...

Grand Finale

After arriving home at 3:00AM we got right back up at 6:30AM to go to the St. Louis Zoo with Miranda and Addisson; an annual trip we take!  We are all HUGE zoo fans except for Addisson, who pretty much comes along for the company haha!  Thank goodness it was a bit cooler, it made almost all of the animals come out!

After an amazing time at the zoo, we went to a part of St. Louis called "The Loop".  It was really amazing with different shops and a great resturaunt called "Fitz".  I had an amazing Grape Soda Float, and some pizza.

Purple Fizz

After a busy weekend, we headed home to Madisonville for Church on Sunday and a cookout at the Dollahan's!  It was quite an amazing weekend to get me jump started for school starting this week!  Until next time...keep enjoying!
